I have a friend who loves his cologne. In fact, when he drives past me in his car, I can smell his cologne escaping out the window! It’s not a bad scent, but it is certainly noticeable.
Would the scent of Christ on us be so poignant to others?
Paul tells us that we are the fragrance of Christ. This aroma is life to other believers. Christians should be encouraged and strengthened by the fragrance our words and actions produce.
On the flipside, this aroma is death to those who don’t know Jesus. The world should be challenged and convicted when in our presence.
Pastor David Jeremiah explains that we need to be both kind and bold. We need to be kind, but not so kind that others are comfortable and affirmed in their sin. We need to be bold, but not so bold that we hurt and push people farther from the Truth.
Some of us might need to perform a spiritual sniff test of our lives.
When we submit to our Savior, His sweet-smelling aroma becomes our fragrance 🙌
